Passport Information

Your passport is the most important item you’ll pack for your trip to Morocco.

✓ Before You Travel

• Passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your departure from Morocco
• At least one blank passport page
• Renew early if your passport expires soon
• Double-check your passport before booking flights

✈️ Passport Tip: Make a photocopy or digital copy of your passport and keep it separate from the original. Having a backup can make replacing a lost passport much easier.

💡 Travel Tip: When it’s time to take your passport photo, remember that it has to meet official requirements. That means no smiling, no funny faces, no sunglasses, and no filters.

Trust us… Save the big smile for your first glass of Moroccan mint tea, your first plate of authentic couscous, or the moment you step into Jemaa el-Fnaa. Your passport photo can look serious. Your Morocco memories definitely won’t.

Do I need a Visa?

Good news! For most U.S. travelers, the answer is no.

🛂 Visa Tip: Visa requirements are based on the passport you travel with – not the country where you currently live. If you’re traveling on a passport from a country other than the United States, be sure to verify Morocco’s current visa requirements before booking your trip.

Landing in Morocco is exciting, and knowing what to expect before you land can help you begin your journey with confidence. Whether you’re arriving in Marrakech, Casablanca, or another international airport, the arrival process is generally straightforward and welcoming for international visitors.

After You Land

Once you leave the aircraft, simply follow the signs for Passport Control (Immigration). Airport signs are provided in Arabic, French, and English, and staff are available if you need assistance.

Collecting Your Luggage

After clearing immigration, continue to the baggage claim area to collect your luggage. Flight information screens will direct you to the correct carousel.

Passing Through Customs

Before exiting the airport, you’ll pass through customs. Most visitors simply walk through the appropriate customs exit without any issues.

Meeting Your Driver or Host

If you’ve booked airport transportation with Explore Morocco Earth, your driver will be waiting for you outside the arrivals terminal.

If your driver isn’t immediately visible, don’t worry. Airport arrivals can sometimes take longer than expected, and your driver will continue monitoring incoming flights.

🛄 Arrival Tip: Follow the airport signs, watch what other arriving passengers are doing, and take your time. Morocco’s international airports are well marked, and you’ll soon find your way to baggage claim and the arrivals hall.

💡 Travel Tip: Don’t rush. After a long international flight, it’s completely normal to feel tired, overwhelmed, excited, or even a little emotional. Take a deep breath, grab your luggage, and enjoy your first moments in Morocco. The adventure has officially begun.
