8:00 AM – Departure from Casablanca
• Start your day early by departing from Casablanca. The drive to Rabat takes about 1.5 hours (approximately 87 km via A3 highway).
9:30 AM – Arrival in Rabat
• Arrive in Rabat, Morocco’s capital city, known for its rich history, stunning architecture, and calm atmosphere.
9:45 AM – 10:30 AM – Visit the Hassan Tower
• Begin your tour at the Hassan Tower, an iconic historical landmark and part of a 12th-century mosque that was never completed. The red sandstone tower is accompanied by a sea of columns, offering a great start to your visit.
10:45 AM – 11:30 AM – Explore the Mausoleum of Mohammed V
• Directly across from Hassan Tower is the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, a beautiful structure with exquisite Moroccan design. It houses the tombs of King Mohammed V and his sons, King Hassan II and Prince Abdallah.
11:45 AM – 12:30 PM – Walk through the Kasbah of the Udayas
• Head towards the Kasbah of the Udayas, a charming old fortress with narrow blue and white streets, offering stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean and the Bou Regreg River. You can also visit the Andalusian Gardens inside the Kasbah.
12:45 PM – 1:45 PM – Lunch at a Traditional Moroccan Restaurant
• Enjoy a leisurely lunch at a traditional Moroccan restaurant near the Medina or along the riverbank. Sample some local dishes such as tagine, couscous, or pastilla.
2:00 PM – 3:00 PM – Visit Chellah Necropolis
• Explore the ancient ruins of Chellah, a medieval fortified city that dates back to Roman times. It’s a peaceful, garden-like setting with remains of Roman and Islamic structures, and a quiet place to reflect on Rabat’s long history.
3:15 PM – 4:15 PM – Royal Palace of Rabat (exterior visit)
• The Royal Palace of Rabat is the official residence of the King of Morocco. While the palace itself is not open to the public, you can visit the grand exterior and admire the impressive surrounding architecture.
4:30 PM – 5:00 PM – Walk through the Rabat Medina
• Spend some time walking through the Rabat Medina. It’s less busy than other medinas in Morocco but still full of shops, artisans, and local crafts. A great spot for some quick shopping or souvenirs.
5:15 PM – 6:30 PM – Drive back to Casablanca
• After a fulfilling day of exploration, head back to Casablanca for a return drive.
